Raise a Glass for Our Veterans

What a fantastic Raise a Glass campaign it was at The Harp in Bridgnorth!

A huge thank you to everyone who purchased our limited edition glassware, joined in on our family-friendly events, and took part in our fundraising activities. It was truly heartwarming to see the community come together to show support during the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal.

We absolutely loved seeing so many happy faces enjoying the events and getting into the spirit!

Although the Raise a Glass celebrations have come to a close, the good times at The Harp are just getting started. We’ve got exciting new eventsseasonal offers, and plenty more reasons to visit — so make sure to keep an eye on our website and social media for all the latest updates.

See you soon!

The Story Behind the Design

The Story Behind the Design

This year’s commemorative glassware showcases artwork by Colin Waite—a Royal Marine veteran whose journey gives this campaign profound meaning. Colin served on HMS Fearless during the Falklands War, where he lost comrades and has lived with survivor’s guilt and severe PTSD ever since.

Rediscovering his passion for art transformed his life. Colin has created 258 pieces—one for every British military member and the three Falkland Islanders who died during the conflict. His work includes portraits of Argentinian prisoners, fallen comrades, and others touched by the war.

“The Royal British Legion has provided lots of practical support to me. They have been brilliant with me, it’s an honour to be able to give back and support the charity.” – Colin Waite

By choosing this year’s glass, you’ve helped support veterans like Colin through the work of the Royal British Legion. The campaign has now finished, and we’re almost sold out—but if you’re lucky, you might still find one at your local Marston’s pub.
